How this flew under the radar, I'll never know. Perhaps 1986 wasn't a good year of UK imports. This songs has hooks, and was well produced and awesome vocals. Three are times where is a little rough and could have went back to the studio, but this is such a great song.

Little did anyone know that songs of this genre would gain a Gen Z following with something called Yacht Rock. I remember hearing this on the radio and enjoying it's melody and easy to understand lyrics. I often wodered what Brandy looked like....

If you had a list of must hear songs before you die, this should be on it. The song is powerful rock anthem from the 70s, and for as iconic this song was, it never hit Number 1. Totally recommended!
Give It A Listen!
Here is one that I just discovered today. I may have heard other songs from this band, but I do not recall this one. It very reminiscent of Corey Hart and strangely enough, these guys are from Canada too. This sounds new but familiar and deserves a listen.

I do love me some METAL! But to make this blog, it has to be an Epic metal tune. Here is the very first Heavy Metal post on this blog. I remember not getting into the harder metal untl 1986 or 1987. But this was one of the bands that opened up the genre for me.
Give It A Listen!
This was a favorite of mine from the first time I heard it. A song that contains the emotion of the message isn't alway prevelant, it is on this song. The eerieness of the synth and vocal effects add to the brilliance of this classic

Here is a song that I feel should have been bigger than it was. It was on Mtv back in the day but fizzled out rather quick. Well 1984 was a happening time for music, in with the new out with the old. Nothing fancy here, rock and roll and nothing more, but well worth a listen.
Give It A Listen!
There isn't anything special about this, but it's very polished, simple and well produced. It has the same feel and sound of Berlin. It's very synthy and very 80s. Just discovered this one so I thought I would share it.

This song exploded when it first hit the video rotation. It may even got played a little too much. Popularity can drive people away faster than it lures them in. When I first heard this I was captivated. Another female rocker! The song is dark and mysterious and hypnotic and luring. Marilyn does have a few others that are worthy of a listen, but this one is her claim to fame.

This was the first song, that I can recall that made me want to play guitar. Oh, this and Funky Town by Pseudo Echo....This one is such a simple Power Pop song with a MASSIVE guitar presence. I remember seeing the video on MTV back when it all started. Truly a song that never got the notority it deserves. I will have to do a deeper dive into Steel Breeze.

It's funny how you can't remember songs from a specific artist, until you hear them and say to yourself, "oh Yeah". I really need to listen to more Naked Eyes to see what undiscovered music is hidden on their releases. This is Synth-Pop at it's best.

Have you ever heard a song, enjoyed but never got the name. And then never think about again until you hear it? This is one of them for me. I remember hearings this and never took note who it was or the name of the song. Squeeze has a lot of good songs out there. If I was on name that tune, going for all the money, and the genre was 80s. I would have easily risked it all, and if this song came on, I would have lost. It has now been indexed in musical memory.
